April 22 is Earth Day, the perfect day to check out the great work being done by the Connecticut Forest & Park Association, a private, non-profit organization dedicated to connecting people to the land in order to protect forests, parks, walking trails, and open space throughout Connecticut for future generations.
Their experienced conservationists offer programs on the Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails, environmental education, land conservation, and public policy.
Locally, we have beautiful state parks and forests, including Natchaug State Forest in Chaplin and Goodwin State Forest in Hampton. This year, I adopted both parks through the Friends of Connecticut State Parks Adopt-a-Park Program.
