Devlin Receives Key Committee Assignments

HARTFORD—State Rep. Laura Devlin (R-134) received her legislative committee assignments and House leadership roles from House Republican Leader Themis Klarides for the 2019-2020 legislative term this week.

Devlin was elected to her third term on Nov. 6th and in the days afterward they have prepared themselves for the start of the legislative session that opens on January 9th.

The legislative proposed bill deadline is January 18th.

Rep. Devlin was given the trust by House Leader Klarides to lead the House Republican caucus as the ranking member of the Transportation committee for the next two years, especially with the issue of tolls on the forefront of the next year’s agenda.

Additionally, Devlin will serve as a member of the Education committee which has cognizance of all matters relating to the Department of Education; local and regional boards of education and the substantive law of collective bargaining covering teachers and professional employees of such boards.

he Transportation Committee has cognizance of all matters relating transportation, including highways and bridges, mass transit and railroads.

Devlin will be serving on Finance, Revenue, and Bonding, —the influential tax-writing committee, as fiscal watchdogs for Trumbull taxpayers.
