This is a reminder that Connecticut residents between the ages of 16 and 44 who wish to receive a COVID-19 vaccination will be eligible beginning tomorrow, April 1!

Visit the state’s COVID-19 Vaccine Portal to view scheduling options.

Those currently eligible to receive a vaccination will continue to be eligible. This includes:

  • All individuals over the age of 45;
  • Healthcare personnel;
  • Medical first responders;
  • Residents and staff of long-term care facilities;
  • Residents and staff of select congregate settings; and
  • PreK-12 school staff and professional childcare providers.

Below is a summary of Connecticut’s COVID-19 vaccine administration efforts as of March 29, 2021 (provided by the governor’s office):

*NOTE: A total of 45,137 doses of the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine are included in each category

This week, the state anticipates receiving about 240,000 first doses from the federal government.

So far, 41 percent of all adults over the age of 16 in Connecticut have received at least one dose, including:

  • 80 percent of people over the age of 65
  • 61 percent of people between the ages of 55-64
  • 38 percent of people between the ages of 45-54

I had my first shot on Friday, March 26 and am already scheduled for the second round of the Moderna vaccine. I am happy to report that I’ve had no side effects thus far.
