Pavement Marking Project on Various State Routes

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (DOT) announced that a pavement marking project will be performed on various state routes.

The project consists of epoxy pavement marking applications on center lines, shoulder lines and handwork on state routes listed below. Work is scheduled to occur from Sunday, April 25, 2021, to Monday, June 28, 2021. No work will be performed the day before or day after all state recognized holidays.

Traffic control personnel, sign patterns, cones, and truck mounted attenuators will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. (Sunday – Thursday) on secondary routes and 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on expressways.

The following routes are included in this project:

· Route 177 in Plainville

· Route 5 in Enfield

· Route 220 in Enfield

· SR534 in Manchester

· SR534 in Bolton

· I-84 westbound in Manchester, South Windsor and Vernon

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to remain alert, drive cautiously and to maintain a safe speed when driving in the work zones.
