Vietnam-Era Veterans Honored in Lebanon

Vietnam-Era Veterans Honored in Lebanon

Key Takeaways

  • Veterans from across our area honored service and sacrifice

I was honored to join CT Veterans Affairs and the Office of the Lt. Governor for a beautiful and moving Vietnam-era Veterans Ceremony in Lebanon, representing the State of Connecticut and the Town of Lebanon. The ceremony formally recognized and thanked these honorable men and women for their service during the Vietnam War.

Alongside Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz, the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs, and State Senator Cathy Osten, we welcomed veterans and families from across our area and heard powerful stories of service and sacrifice. Many faced painful, misunderstood homecomings that still resonate today, yet they continued their legacy of service in our communities.

Thank you to everyone who organized this patriotic event—it was among the most impactful I’ve attended as your state representative. We salute our Vietnam veterans for their steadfast commitment to our country. Thank you for all you have done, and welcome home.
