Dear Neighbors,

Our local Superintendent Dr. Scott V. Nicol recently shared an upcoming opportunity for our eighth grade class to honor Ellington D-Day Veterans and their families at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Arlington.

Please read the information below, and share with your neighbors.

Sincerely,

Christopher Davis

Dear Ellington Family –

Each year, eighth graders from Ellington place a wreath on the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery. This year they are privileged to place the wreath on Thursday, June 6, 2019, the 75th Anniversary of the Normandy Invasion. The students would like to honor the Ellington families of soldiers who participated in this pivotal battle by placing their names on the wreath.

Ellington Middle School Teacher – Dr. Steve Donovan (Washington DC Trip Coordinator) is hoping to gather as many names as possible.  Please have anyone in our community who has a family member who served in the D-Day Invasion forward the information to Dr. Donovan at sdonovan@ellingtonschools.net so as many Ellington soldiers as possible may be honored at the ceremony.

Dr. Scott V. Nicol, Superintendent
