HARTFORD, CT – Senator Heather Somers (R-Groton), Representatives Anne Dauphinais (R-Killingly), and Doug Dubitsky (R-Chaplin) announced that the State Bond Commission has given final approval for funding the Town of Plainfield’s Recreation Facility Master Plan at its meeting on Friday. The Commission’s allocation of $250,000 will be directed toward community engagement and a comprehensive town-wide planning study for the Parks and Recreation Department.

“We acknowledge this funding of Plainfield’s recreational facilities. This funding in our parks and recreation department is investing in the quality of life for all residents. Plainfield will be well on its way to achieving a vibrant and engaging parks and recreation environment that benefits all community members. We thank Governor Lamont and the commission for recognizing the importance of this project and appreciate its final approval.”

These funds were requested to finance the 27 eligible projects voted on by the Community Investment Fund 2030 Board on March 12, 2024, and subsequently recommended to Governor Lamont for funding via bonding.
