State Representative Anne Dauphinais, the Ranking House Republican Member on the Committee on Children, today issued the following statement:

“This afternoon during the Capitol Press Briefing, Education Committee Co-Chair Jennifer Leeper (D-132) announced that there would be no legislation on homeschooling this session. I am proceeding with caution about this development, and I urge all of Connecticut’s homeschool families to stay vigilant—now is not the time for complacency. Although this issue might be off the table for now, such matters often reemerge in future sessions.

I commend the homeschool community for being vocal and making their voices heard, despite not having a seat at the table. Your advocacy, commitment to family, and dedication to freedom will play a significant role in the future of homeschooling in Connecticut. Stay alert, and I will keep you updated on the latest developments from your State Capitol.”
