I want to make you aware of an upcoming public hearing for the Transportation Committee on Wednesday, January 30, 2017.

The Transportation Committee will hold a public hearing on a number of proposed bills to improve public safety on Connecticut’s roads and address our transportation needs.

    Transportation Committee Public Hearing
    Wednesday, January 30, at 11:00 a.m.
Room 1E of the Legislative Office Building

The hearing will provide you with an opportunity to offer your thoughts on several bills related to transportation in Connecticut, including a proposal I introduced:

    • HB 5818 An Act Eliminating the Fee for a Motor Vehicle Operator’s License or Identity Card Indicating a Person’s Status as a Veteran
To find a list of relevant bills up for debate at the public hearing please visit: https://www.cga.ct.gov/2017/tradata/pha/2017PHA00130-R001100TRA-PHA.htm

You can testify in person or in writing — I have provided the instructions below.

Feel free to contact my office if you have questions:
    800-842-1423 or robin.green@housegop.ct.gov.

    HOW TO TESTIFY:

Please email written testimony in Word or PDF format to TRAtestimony@cga.ct.gov. Testimony should clearly state testifier name and related Bills. The Committee requests testimony be limited to matters related to the items on the Agenda.

The first hour of the hearing is reserved for Legislators, Constitutional Officers, State Agency Heads and Chief Elected Municipal Officials.

Speakers will be limited to three minutes of testimony.

The Committee encourages witnesses to submit a written statement and to condense oral testimony to a summary of that statement.

Unofficial sign-up sheets have no standing with the Committee.

All public hearing testimony, written and spoken, is public information. As such, it will be made available on the CGA website and indexed by internet search engines.

“The findings of the audit offer a sobering snapshot of the immense challenges facing DCF—alongside some deeply troubling failures in both performance and procedure.
