    Data Deletion & Records Request

    Effective date: October 27, 2025

This page explains how to request deletion of personal information we control for our websites and the Metta app, and how those requests interact with Connecticut public-records laws.

We are the Connecticut House Republican Office (“CHRO”), a legislative caucus. Our websites and Metta app are operated by state-employee communications staff.

What you can request us to delete or stop using

Where legally permissible, we will honor requests to delete or stop using:

    • Newsletter data (email address, subscription preferences).
    • Optional website/app profile data (if such features exist).
    • Non-record, non-archival operational data held by our vendors solely to provide services to us (e.g., email delivery logs beyond required retention).
    • Analytics identifiers we control that are not required for security or core functionality.

Note: Uninstalling the Metta app from your device does not by itself delete server-side data. Please send a request as described below.

What may not be deleted (public-records notice)

As a public agency, some information is a public record and may be subject to the Connecticut Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) and state records-retention schedules. That can include:

    • Messages sent through our contact forms or email to our offices.
    • Certain logs, responses, and correspondence created in the course of official business.

We may be legally required to retain and/or disclose such records, subject to statutory exemptions and limitations. If we cannot delete a record because law requires retention, we will:

    • Stop using the information for outreach (e.g., remove you from newsletters);
    • Restrict access to the smallest group necessary; and
    • Redact or withhold information only where allowed by law.

We cannot control how third parties may use records released pursuant to FOIA.

How to request deletion or suppression

Please email: Devin.Keehner@cga.ct.gov (replace with your official alias)

Include the following so we can locate your records:

    1. Subject line: “Data Deletion Request”
    2. Your full name
    3. Email address(es) you used with us (newsletters, forms, app)
    4. Phone number (if provided previously)
    5. Description of what you want deleted or stopped (e.g., “remove from newsletters,” “delete my Metta app profile”)
    6. Screenshot or link (optional) that helps identify your submission(s)

Please do not email sensitive numbers (SSN, full driver’s license, bank numbers). If identity verification is needed, we’ll provide a secure method.
