Dancho Testifies on Affordable Housing Bill – HB 5333

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Yesterday, I submitted testimony on House Bill 5333 “An Act Concerning a Study of the Affordable Housing Appeals Process”. This bill would create a task force studying municipal concerns with meeting affordable housing requirements mandated by CT statute 8-30g.

The issue: forcing towns to develop housing could negatively impact environmentally sensitive land.
The solution: allow this task force to study the effectiveness of approving naturally occurring affordable housing

Stratford Historical Society Awarded CT Humanities Grant

STRATFORD, CT — The Stratford Historical Society will receive nearly $5,400 for its strategic planning project thanks to a grant from CT Humanities.

The board of directors of CT Humanities this week awarded $144,047 in major grants to 11 nonprofits to support humanities projects and planning that strengthen the organizations’ impact in their communities and highlight humanities work through the state, officials announced.
