In the middle of National Nurses week, there is no better time to express the gratitude I have for our courageous nurses across Connecticut. The heroic actions of our first responders have been spectacular through this pandemic and they deserve to be recognized for their perseverance.

The Reopen Connecticut Advisory Group has advised higher education institutions to prepare to return for the fall 2020 semester. This recommendation relies upon the continued progress against COVID-19 and leaves the final decision up to the individual institutions.

Our K-12 education is to continue through the end of the 2019-2020 using social distance learning technology. The decision was made to help combat the spread of COVID-19 and educators are hopeful this decision will lead to students returning to the classroom by the fall of 2020.

All of this information and more can be found below.

Mother’s Day weekend is upon us. As we continue to socially distance, we can still show the moms in our lives love through video calls or sending them a card or flowers. Mothers still need hugs, even if they are virtual!

Enjoy the weekend and remember to socially distance while doing so!
