I am excited to announce shoreline beaches will be open for Memorial Day Weekend. This decision has been made in conjunction with surrounding states. Precautionary measures have been put in place to limit contact and maintain social distancing while enjoying the weekend.
The CBIA has announced a partnership with the state of Connecticut to distribute 50,000 infrared thermometers to small businesses, non profits and places of worship. These thermometers can play a key role in monitoring and maintaining the health and safety of our community.
The House Republican caucus has written a letter to Governor Lamont asking him to re-engage with lawmakers and launch a more collaborative process that, at the very least, includes state lawmakers in discussions before decisions are made.
Additionally, a bipartisan group of lawmakers has written to Governor Lamont outlining steps he can take to address the impact COVID-19 has had on our casinos. Eastern Connecticut has flattened the curve and looks to find ways to combat this virus, while limiting the economic impact on the gaming industry.
I encourage you to reach out to my office with any comments, questions or concerns. I will continue to update my website here.
Enjoy the weekend and stay safe! |
