Below is an announcement from the Connecticut Department of Transportation regarding bridge work that may impact your travel:
Closure of Bridge No. 06026 on Route 156 over Niantic River in East Lyme/Waterford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a road closure of Route 156 over the Niantic River will occur on May 13, 2022 from 12:01 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. for cleaning of the span locks. This work cannot be accomplished in concurrence with traffic flow.

Route 156 over the Niantic River will be closed from 12:01 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. on May 13, 2022. From Route 156 East, traffic will be detoured onto Route 161 North to Route 1 East to Niantic River Road South. From Route 156 West, traffic will be detoured onto Niantic River Road North to Route 1 West to Route 161 South.
