HARFORD- Today, State Rep. Holly Cheeseman (R-37) attended an informational forum at the State Capitol called Preventing Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting in Connecticut: Why Comprehensive Laws Matter.

“I heard horrifying stories from women about this awful and inhumane practice and strongly believe Connecticut should pass a ban on Female Genital Mutilation/ Cutting this session,” said Rep. Cheeseman.

The Connecticut DOT is encouraging residents, commuters, business owners, and interested individuals to attend an informational meeting on Thursday, January 18, 2024 (Snow Date January 24, 2024) to learn about and discuss Phase 1 of the proposed Route 82 project.

The meeting will be held at the Kelly STEAM Magnet Middle School, 25 Mahan Drive, Norwich, Connecticut, 06360.

There will be an opportunity for individual discussions with DOT officials beginning at 6:00 p.m., with the formal presentation
