SALEM – A couple months ago, State Representative Holly Cheeseman (R-37) hosted her first Business Advisory Council Meeting as a network in which local entrepreneurs can come together and discuss how state government can create a more business-friendly environment in Connecticut.

With the 2019 Legislative Session ending tomorrow, June 5th, Rep. Cheeseman would like to gather the council for their second meeting to recap what transpired during Session. Those who attended the first meeting, or who are interested in becoming new members, are asked to RSVP to Rep. Cheeseman’s Outreach Coordinator Ashley McMann at Ashley.McMann@cga.ct.gov by Friday, June 14th if they are able to attend the meeting on Tuesday, June 18th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Salem Town Hall, or their alternative availabilities.

Moving forward, Rep. Cheeseman plans on rotating this meeting between East Lyme and Salem. Her intention is to grow this Council to a working group that will help brainstorm and draft future legislation to support small businesses.

“I want to reiterate that my goal is to be the voice in Hartford for my business community, but I cannot do this alone,” said Rep. Cheeseman. “I need the ideas, thoughts and suggestions of business owners like you.”
