Information Regarding COVID-19 – April 17th

Today the Governor announced in an Executive Order the mandatory wearing of face coverings when in public. The Executive Order states that individuals in public where it is unavoidable to stay 6 feet apart, must wear face coverings. Individuals must also wear face coverings when using public transportation, taxis and other ride sharing. The order goes into effect Tuesday, April 21st at 8:00 p.m.

Nothing in this order shall require the use of a mask or cloth face covering by anyone for whom doing so would be contrary to his or her health or safety because of a medical condition, anyone under the age of 2 years, or by an older child if the parent, guardian or person responsible for the child is unable to place the mask safely on the child’s face.

Additionally, the Governor announced the postponement of the upcoming primary election. The election will now be held on Tuesday, August 11th. To read the Executive Order, click here.

The DECD has announced the signing of a financial tech firm to distribute loans for the Bridge Program. The Bridge Program was allocated $50 million for loans to companies struggling from the COVID-19 outbreak. Companies are likely to see $15,000- $20,000 loans with 12 month terms and a possibility of a six month extension. For more information about the Bridge Program, click here.
