Daytime lane closures on I-395 Northbound and Southbound in Montville and Norwich

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing daytime lane closures on I-395 northbound and southbound in Montville and Norwich to facilitate ongoing work activities.

The project consists of the replacement of median guiderail and grading of the entire median area, including incidental drainage adjustments. Concrete barriers will be installed in both directions along the left shoulder to allow for the safe removal and installation of guiderail.

DOT Project No. 0103-0272 was awarded to Atlas Industrial Services, LLC of Branford, Connecticut, for a cost of $3.2 million on September 30, 2019, and is scheduled to be completed October 30, 2020.

Daytime lane closures will start at 6:30 AM and be removed by 3:00 PM. Hours of operation will continue as warranted by current traffic volumes on I-395. The left shoulder will be closed using concrete barriers to provide for a safe work zone in the highway’s median area.

Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through work zones.  Signing patterns, associated traffic devices, and State Police will be used throughout the work zones.
