Dear Friends & Neighbors,

I hope you continue to be healthy and safe during these difficult times. I am writing with a brief update with information on school reopening and an announcement from Eversource regarding power restoration efforts.

School Reopening Resources

With the 2020-2021 school year approaching, the State Department of Education (CSDE) announced that they will host a virtual “house call” with healthcare professionals and pediatricians to answer common questions about immunizations, mask wearing, hand washing, social distancing. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday August 13th at 5:00 p.m.

Eversource Update

Approximately 617,000 Eversource customers in Connecticut remained without power by last Wednesday morning. As of today, most customers in East Lyme and Salem have had their service restored. Statewide nearly 75,000 customers still without power, Eversource expects restoration to be substantially complete by Tuesday at 11:59 p.m.

Filing Weekly Continued Claims

Due to power outages, some claimants may have missed filing their weekly continued claim. If a customer has missed their filing, they will have until Friday 8pm of the following week to file (Hours:  Monday – Friday 6am-8pm). Customers can also file via cellphone or mobile device.

Do not hesitate to reach out if you need assistance with this or any other issue you may have working with state agencies.
