PPP Loan Forgiveness

According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), borrowers may be eligible for loan forgiveness if the funds were used for eligible purposes such as, payroll, business mortgage interest payments, rent, or utilities during either the 8- or 24-week period after disbursement. Borrowers can apply for forgiveness once they have used all loan proceeds for which the borrower is requesting forgiveness. Borrowers can apply for forgiveness any time up to the maturity date of the loan.

Connecticut is renewing its call for medical and non-medical volunteers who can assist in critical roles. There are opportunities to help in education, food distribution, testing sites, nursing homes, and more.

Mohegan Sun Community Testing Site

Yale New Haven Health recently announced a new COVID-19 testing site in partnership with Mohegan Sun. The new drive through testing site is located at the Thames Garage and is available Monday, December 7th – Friday, December 11th: 8:00am – 4:30pm and starting Sunday, December 13th until further notice testing is available daily from 7:30am – 5:00pm. Appointments are required and can be made by a physician placing an order or by utilizing the website. PURA Makes Changes to Electric Rate Adjustment Process

Last week, the Public Utilities Regulatory Authority (PURA) issued a ruling on their investigations into the July and August rate increases by Eversource and United Illuminating. PURA concluded that the current approach to rate adjustments is not in the public interest. The authority’s decision calls for an overhaul of the rate adjustment process, increased transparency, and a redesign of customer’s electric bills.
