Dear Friends and Neighbors,

In the coming weeks I will be starting up a Business Advisory Council (BAC) comprised of local Salem and East Lyme employers to discuss the impact of proposed legislation and policies.

I am extending an invitation to all business leaders in East Lyme and Salem to join the BAC. There are many businesspeople throughout our community who are too busy to engage in or follow the process of state government. I understand that you may not have the time to keep track of the hundreds of bills that are proposed each session, know which ones may potentially negatively impact your business and judge when you should take a day off from work to come to Hartford to testify.

This effort is especially important as our economy continues to struggle with our state losing nearly 3,000 jobs in January and February. State government has ignored the needs of small businesses, placed undue burdens, regulations and taxes on them, and I need your help to end this cycle.

My first meeting will be on April 23rd, 2019 8AM- 9AM, at East Lyme Town Hall Upper Meeting Room, 108 Pennsylvania Ave Niantic, CT 0635.  At that meeting I will schedule the next 5 meetings.  I will keep our meetings to one hour unless otherwise agreed upon by the council out of respect for everyone’s schedule.

If you would like to attend my first meeting on April 23rd, please RSVP by April 18th to my Outreach Coordinator Ashley McMann at Ashley.McMann@cga.ct.gov or 860-240-8752.

I would be truly honored if you would join my Business Advisory Council and help me accomplish my mission of creating a more business-friendly environment here in Connecticut.

Please share this information with local business leaders who may be interested in joining this effort.

Best Regards,

Holly Cheeseman

State Representative – 37th District
