Established in 1970 by the Autism Society to promote awareness, education, and acceptance – April is Autism Acceptance Month (AAM). The Dept. of Public Health offers resources for individuals who have been diagnosed on the autism spectrum and their families. To access those resources, please click here.

The legislature continues to find new ways to support those who are diagnosed with autism and their caregivers. In 2021, I supported a new law that expands the state’s Autism Spectrum Disorder Council. By expanding the membership of this council, greater perspective will be provided to the legislature through the council’s annual recommendations.
