Rep. Carpino Takes Oath of Office to Begin New Term

HARTFORD- During the Opening of the 2025 Legislative Session, State Rep. Christie Carpino (32) on Wednesday was officially sworn-in for a new term as State Representative for the 32nd General Assembly District which encompasses the towns of Cromwell and Portland.

“It is truly an honor to represent Cromwell and Portland at the Capitol,” said Rep. Carpino. “We have a lot of important issues to tackle this legislative session. Affordability, public health and safety, and good government should be at the top of the list. Let’s put politics aside and craft solutions for our residents this term.”

For the new term, Carpino has been re-appointed the House Republican Caucus Chair by House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora.

Additionally, Carpino has been appointed the House Chair of the Regulation Review Committee, the committee charged with reviewing regulations proposed by state agencies before regulations are implemented. The Regulation Review Committee convenes year-round to address time sensitive submissions on a variety of substantive issues impacting Connecticut.

Carpino will also continue to serve on the Public Health and Government Administration and Elections Committees. Carpino has been a vocal advocate for women’s healthcare in Connecticut.

The 2025 Legislative Session will run for a five-month period from January 8th to June 4th.
