Hartford – As an effort to promote an appreciation of our community and our environment, State Rep. Christie Carpino has announced an art contest for residents, businesses and organizations of Cromwell and Portland to celebrate the uniqueness and beauty of our legislative district. The collection of artwork will begin on Monday, April 25, and will close on Monday, May 30. Submissions will be displayed at the State Capitol Complex in early June.
Details for the art contest are below:
- Art: Artists will submit an original painting, drawing, photograph or combination on an 18″ X 24″ (or smaller) canvas or poster board. The imagery should represent the 32nd district and what makes it such an amazing community.
- Submission: Cromwell residents can drop off submissions to Cromwell Town Hall with the Town Manager Anthony Salvatore. Portland residents can drop their submissions to Portland Town Hall with the First Selectman, Ryan Curley. Participants may also mail their work to: State Rep. Christie Carpino, 300 Capitol Avenue Room 4200, Hartford, CT 06106. Submission forms can be accessed by clicking here.
- Display: The commemorative artwork will be displayed at the State Capitol from Monday, June 6 through Friday, June 17.
Rep. Carpino will also share the artwork on social media at its conclusion.
