I still remember it vividly. 23 years ago, at Old Saybrook High School, I was sitting in 3rd period Physics when we received the news that the first tower had been hit. We all went to the library and saw the second tower get hit. I will never forget the feelings I had that day – fear, numbness, sadness. In that time of tragedy, we came together as a nation to stand up to terror and unite against evil.

We can never forget what happened on September 11, 2001. We must continue to honor and remember the lives lost, the brave first responders who ran into danger, and the physical and emotional scars so many are still dealing with, and the families affected by this senseless act of terror.

God Bless America.
