WATCH: Rep. Canino Voices Concerns Over Overregulating Businesses

During a recent Labor Committee meeting, Rep. Joe Canino (R–Torrington) expressed concerns about policies that could restrict how businesses use AI technology in the future. Canino focused on two key issues. First, he argued that it represents government overreach to dictate how businesses manage internal tracking and productivity policies. Second, he warned that such restrictions could make Connecticut businesses less competitive, allowing other states to gain an advantage. While the proposal may be well-intentioned in its aim to protect employees, Canino cautioned that it could ultimately limit job opportunities moving forward.
