Today, I joined House and Senate Republicans as we called for increased government accountability through the Inspector General’s Office on several recent questionable reports. Some of these ethical lapses in state government include:

Reckless Spending – CT State Colleges and Universities (CSCU) President Terrence Cheng caught buying expensive meals and transportation, while students face tuition hikes

Canceling an Audit – Kosta Diamantis and former Rep. Ziogas (D) pressured to cancel a critical audit under current Office of Health Strategy Commissioner Deidre Gifford

DMV Towing Scandal – State DMV employee was reselling towed vehicles for profit

Stalling on Electric Rates – PURA’s Chair Marissa Gillet had secret text conversations with Democrat lawmakers

Voter Fraud – Right here in Torrington, voter fraud cases are popping up in our state, but no one is going to jail.
