Nighttime Resurfacing to Begin June 5 – Route 5 in North Haven and Wallingford

The following message comes from the State Department of Transportation and contains information that could impact your travels.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a nighttime milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 5 in North Haven and Wallingford, beginning Wednesday, June 5, 2019.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing 1.90 miles of Route 5 in North Haven and Wallingford.  This project is scheduled to occur Wednesday, June 5, 2019 through Thursday, June 27, 2019.  The milling segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Wednesday, June 5, 2019 through Friday, June 14, 2019.  The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to be performed on Sunday, June 16, 2019 through Thursday, June 27, 2019.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 5 from .07 mile south Wallingford Town Line to Ward Street. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
