Memorial Day 2019

Memorial Day arrives this weekend, and it is a time to reflect on the service of those who answered our nation’s call in times of armed conflict, and made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure future generations of Americans would remain free.

Below is a list of some important events happening in our district this weekend to commemorate this national holiday.

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND 2019

Guilford

 Monday, May 27, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. – Parade from Boston Street to the Town Green, Town of Guilford/American Legion.

North Branford

 Monday, May 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. – Parade will proceed east onto Route 80 toward the North Branford Congregational Church. Ceremony to follow after at Company 1 Firehouse with refreshments sponsored by Company 1 and the Veterans of North Branford/Northford.

Wallingford

 Monday, May 27, 2019 at 9:00 a.m. – The ceremony is scheduled for 9 a.m. on Memorial Day at Dutton Park. The parade is scheduled to step off at 10 a.m. and arrive at the Town Hall at approximately 10:45 a.m. In the event of inclement weather and parade cancellation, the observance will be moved to 10 a.m. at Lyman Hall High School’s auditorium.

Durham

 Monday, May 27, 2019 at 9:15 a.m. – Parade will step off at the corner of Haddam Quarter Road and Main Street, and then continue down Main Street to the Durham Town Green. The parade will take place rain or shine. Ceremony to follow the parade at the Town Green.
