HARTFORD – The House of Representatives, on Wednesday, took up several pieces of legislation and additional legislative business for consideration. On the agenda was the reappointment of PURA Chair, Marissa Gillett. This was the most contentious item debated and acted on during Wednesday’s House business.

“Today, I voted against Marissa Paslick Gillett’s reappointment to PURA. It’s time for a change. Connecticut has the second highest electric rates in the country and what we’re doing now for energy policy is not working,” said Rep. Patrick Callahan.

Despite his opposition, the House ultimately voted to move the confirmation forward, largely on a party-line vote. The Senate, to date, has yet to take action on her appointment.
