    Tropical Storm Wrap-up & Resources…

The tropical storms that hit Connecticut last month brought with them great amounts of damage to private property and businesses. The Dept. of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (DEMHS) continues to do its assessment of the storm damage. Should DEMHS successful petition the federal government into declaring an emergency, FEMA resources will be made readily available to our community.

In the event an emergency is declared federally for the State of Connecticut, you will be able to get more information from these resources:

For general information about individual assistance, you can click the link below:

    • FEMA Individual Assistance (IA): https://www.fema.gov/assistance/individual/program

For general information about private, non-profit organizations, you can click the link below:

    • FEMA Public Assistance (PA): https://www.fema.gov/assistance/public

Additionally, the Small Business Administration (SBA) has established a low-interest loan program to assist homeowners and businesses affected by disaster declarations. Eligible homeowners and businesses can find out more information on that program here.
