HARTFORD – State Rep. Billy Buckbee (R-New Milford) has proposed several pieces of legislation. These bills are currently under consideration by various legislative committees. The process is often cumbersome, involving a thorough vetting process in each committee, subsequent public hearings, additional committee votes, and consideration by the full membership of both the House and Senate before approval.

Buckbee, however, is hopeful that many of his ideas will successfully make it through the legislative process. Some of his proposals include:

  • HB 5829 — AN ACT CONCERNING FUNDING TO IMPLEMENT RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE NEW MILFORD ROAD SAFETY AUDIT REPORT.
  • HB 6305 — AN ACT REQUIRING AN AUDIT OF PROGRAMS FUNDED BY THE COMBINED PUBLIC BENEFITS CHARGE.
  • HB 5942 — AN ACT CONCERNING THE PURCHASE OF ENERGY CREDITS FROM OUT-OF-STATE PROVIDERS.
  • HB 6716 — AN ACT CONCERNING AN EXPANSION OF COMMUTER RAIL LINES TO THE TOWN OF NEW MILFORD.
  • HB 6624 — AN ACT CONCERNING FIREFIGHTER RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION.
