Governor Indicates Electric Vehicle Mandate is off the table; Statement from the Ranking Member of the Energy Committee

As the Ranking Member of the legislature’s Energy Committee, I have heard loud and clear from residents of New Milford and communities across Connecticut: they are not ready for an electric vehicle mandate. Over the past several months, my office has been flooded with emails, phone calls, and in-person conversations expressing strong concerns about the feasibility and cost implications of such a mandate.

I am pleased to see that Governor Lamont has listened to these concerns and has formally withdrawn

Be Bear Aware! Officials are warning that Connecticut Black Bears are beginning their end-of-year preparations. This is the time of year when bears start their initial hibernation phases, which requires them to eat a substantial amount of food. The state saw a record number of bear observances and human-bear interactions in 2024. This has increased the possibility for conflict, which is why its important to review some safety tips on how to be bear aware this season.
