Hartford – State Rep. Bill Buckbee Thank participated in a roundtable discussion on energy and environment issues, facilitated by the CT Business & Industry Association. The meeting was held on Thursday, January 25, at the Legislative Office Building.

“We talked about many of the topics likely to come up in the 2024 session, with a focus on energy resources and associated costs. I believe we all want to diversify the resources we draw from to deliver electricity, with as little disruption to our surrounding environment as possible, but we must weigh those options with basic affordability. Many emerging and new technologies are simply too expensive when implemented and, in the face of already difficult economic times, it is simply too much to ask residents and businesses to pay for increased costs. I believe we have made progress in striking a positive balance in our previous committee work and look forward to expanding on that in the coming months,” said Buckbee, who serves as the Ranking Member to the Energy & Technology committee.

The General Assembly will convene its 2024 session on Wednesday, February 7th.
