The voice of each individual is expressed by voting on major issues, like town budgets. With very little known about COVID-19, last year many towns weren’t able to hold municipal referendums or votes on their budgets. However, this past fall we were able to conduct a state-wide election safely. I have urged Gov. Lamont to ensure your right to vote on local issues is protected. As elected officials, we should be providing the pathway for each town to protect the core functions of government and hold safe elections going forward.
