Making Connecticut Affordable, Call for Special Session

Inflation and our state’s tax structure have made Connecticut unaffordable. I am calling for a special session to provide immediate tax relief that will be meaningful to both residents and businesses. The plan I support prioritizes lowering energy costs – including diesel fuel – as well as making everyday items easier for you to purchase. Specifics of the plan include:
- Reducing the income tax
- Expanding current gas tax holiday to diesel
- Suspending impending diesel fuel tax increase (scheduled for July 1)
- Eliminating the big truck tax
- Reducing the state’s sales tax
- Eliminating the tax on meals
- Increasing residential heating and cooling assistance accessibility
