HARTFORD – The 2017 Legislative Session began Wednesday morning with the swearing in of the newly elected officials of the Connecticut General Assembly. State Representative Bill Buckbee was among those who were officially sworn in, becoming the newest State Representative of the 67th Assembly District.
“I am looking forward to bringing the voice of the Town of New Milford to Hartford by restoring common sense policies that will promote a vibrant economy,” stated Rep. Buckbee. “It is my goal to restore fiscal stability and make Connecticut an attractive place for business to open shop and thrive here.”
Rep. Buckbee has been assigned by House Republican leadership to serve on the General Assembly’s Commerce, Children’s, and Internship Committees. Despite this being his first term in Hartford, Rep. Buckbee is already familiar to public service. Prior to being elected as State Representative, he served on the Town of New Milford’s Sewer Commission and Homeless Shelter Coalition.
The General Assembly’s 2017 Legislative Session will continue for a five-month period, adjourning on Wednesday, June 7.
