Hartford, Conn. — Connecticut’s largest business organization recognized State Representative Jason Buchsbaum (R-69) with a perfect voting score on key bills impacting Connecticut’s economic growth and business climate during the 2025 legislative session.

The Connecticut Business and Industry Association (CBIA) ranked all state lawmakers based on their support for the business community’s positions on 12 important policies. The bills all affect job creation, small business growth and economic stability in Connecticut.

"I am proud that my voting record reflects my advocacy for the business sector. I will continue to work on policies that assist small businesses in our state," said Rep. Buchsbaum.

In addition to supporting various legislation to help make Connecticut more business friendly, Rep. Buchsbaum also co-sponsored bills during the recently completed session to allow certain skilled trade licensees to deviate from the skilled trade hiring ratios, and to cap charges for certain individuals obtaining occupational licenses, certifications, permits and registrations.

"Just like the many Connecticut families struggling with the high cost of living, businesses are also forced to make difficult decisions when they try to balance their books. Next session, I will continue to advocate for legislation to make Connecticut more affordable by lowering energy costs, reducing taxes, and eliminating crippling fees," added Buchsbaum.

The scorecard was calculated using 12 key bills and may reflect votes from committee, the House, or both. The complete CBIA legislative scorecard can be viewed at cbia.com.
