Hearings Scheduled on Yankee Gas Proposed Rate Increase

HARTFORD, CT – Yankee Gas (owned by Eversource) has proposed a rate increase for residential customers and residents will have an opportunity to have their voices heard.
Specifically, Yankee has proposed a revenue increase of $209 million or approximately 29% of its total revenues, which would add an average monthly increase of $46.74 to the typical residential gas bill.
The Public Utilities Regulatory Authority is reviewing this application, and coming up, residents will have in-person and virtual opportunities to let PURA know how this increase will impact you and your budget. The closest hearing in our area is in Danbury.
