NAUGATUCK – Rep. Seth Bronko, R-Naugatuck, recently attended Maple Hill Elementary School for Read Across America Week, which is an opportunity to promote literacy and reading within local schools.
Rep. Bronko read two books, “Fox in Socks,” by Dr. Seuss, to students in the kindergarten class and “Perfectly Norman” to the third graders.
The National Education Association launched Read Across America in 1998 as a year-round program to celebrate reading.
Dr. Seuss’ birthday was March 2 and was declared Read Across America Day, which kicks off Read Across America Week and Read Across America Month.
