NAUGATUCK – Rep. Seth Bronko, R-Naugatuck, joined Lieutenant Governor Susan Bysiewicz and Mayor Pete Hess in a press conference marking the awarding of a $1.375 million state grant, administered through the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development’s Brownfield Remediation and Development Program.
This grant will support the remediation of a 7.75-acre city-owned property at 0 Maple Street, converting it to the first of about 60 housing units and 4,700 square feet of commercial space in our community. Naugatuck is expecting to break ground on this new project to convert a polluted brownfield site into usable housing, marking the next chapter in the Borough’s story.
Rep. Bronko thanked the CT DECD, Mayor Hess and the lieutenant governor for their work in bringing this project forward, bringing new opportunities for housing, commerce, and the potential for economic growth for our community.
