State Rep. Mitch Bolinsky is making Newtown constituents aware that the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that Wrong Way Driver Detection installations will be performed on I-84 east and westbound at Exit 11 in Newtown starting on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
The CTDOT is announcing that Wrong Way Driver Detection installations will be performed on I-84 east and westbound at Exit 11 in Newtown. This project is scheduled to occur on Wednesday, March 12, 2025. The project 0170-3638 consists of installation of the wrong way driver system on I-84 east and westbound at Exit 11 in Newtown.
This project is being performed by State Forces.

I-84 east and westbound at Exit 11 in Newtown will be closed on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic will be detoured as follows:
- For motorists looking to take I-84 eastbound at Exit 11, take Exit 13 to River Road to Oakdale Road. Take the Exit 13 on-ramp westbound to Exit 10 to Church Hill Road, then to Berkshire Road, to Wasserman Way.
- For motorists looking to take I-84 westbound at Exit 11, take Exit 10 to Church Hill Road to Berkshire Road to Wasserman Way.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
