In the words of former President George W. Bush: “Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shatter steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.”
Today marks a day of reflection. It’s important that we, as a community, stick together and remember those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. It is a day marked in infamy and serves as a somber reminder that there is a constant threat to our democracy.
In that light, it is important to remember the men and women in the armed forces who answered the call to step forward and serve our great nation in a time of conflict, preserving our freedom.
