Newtown Legislative Delegation Honors Retiring Monsignor, Participate in St. Rose Knowledge Bowl

Newtown, Conn.—As part of Catholic Schools Week, State Representatives Mitch Bolinsky (R-106) and Martin Foncello (R-107) along with State Senator Tony Hwang (R-28), presented a citation to St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church Monsignor Robert Weiss on his last day as Pastor of Newtown’s largest faith community, marking his retirement, and recognizing him for his years of devoted service to the parish and the community. The lawmakers also participated in a schoolwide Knowledge Bowl.

Newtown, CT – Dozens of people came out to the Newtown Community Center Wednesday January 24, 2024, to support Hearts of Hope Newtown and their ‘Paint with a Purpose’ event for active-duty military members. State Senator Tony Hwang (R-28) and State Representatives Mitch Bolinsky (R-106) and Martin Foncello (R-107) celebrate and thank the organization for their continued dedication to service men and women across the country. This year, the decorated hearts will be sent to two United States Navy Submarines

Newtown’s State Legislative Delegation proudly announces the induction of Newtown’s William Ford Law Rodgers (Will) into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame as the member of its Class of 2023. The Hall of Fame recognizes Connecticut veterans who have made significant contributions to their communities after leaving military service.

Colonel Rodgers served two tours of duty with the Marine Corps Veteran in Persian Gulf service.  He also served as an Appellate Judge on the Navy-Marine Corps Court
