Danbury – The State Department of Children and Families has reopened the Danbury office’s family visitation rooms, which were designed to be more family-friendly living room-type environments. An informational public meeting is being held later this month on 10 rate filings from 9 health insurers for 2024 plans both on and off Access Health CT, the state’s federal Affordable Care Act exchange. The public informational meeting will be held in a hybrid format, both in person at the Legislative Office Building, in Hartford, and online at CT-N.

The insurers are seeking an average hike of 12.4% on individual health plans next year and 14.8% on small group plans.

NEWTOWN- In celebration of Flag Day, State Reps. Mitch Bolinsky (R-106) and Martin Foncello (R-107) along with the Scouts of Troop 270 conducted a flag collection drive at the CH Booth Library for those that wished to turn in their worn and tattered flags to be retired at VFW Post 308 in Newtown, in a respectful ceremony.

NEWTOWN — To pay homage to the Flag Day holiday, State Reps. Mitch Bolinsky (R-106), Martin Foncello (R-107) and state Senator Tony Hwang (R-28) in cooperation with Newtown VFW Post #308 and Scout Troop #270 are helping Newtown residents dispose of their worn American flags in a dignified and respectful way.

The U.S. Flag Code specifies that old American flags no longer in service must be properly disposed, and the lawmakers are offering this service free of charge, in conjunction with VFW Post #308.
