New Laws Effective October 1st

A number of new laws passed during the 2018 Legislative Session take effect today, October 1, 2018. These new laws may have an impact on you, your business, or our community.

Among those Public Acts that will become law October 1st are the following measures that I supported:

AN ACT CONCERNING BUMP STOCKS AND OTHER MEANS OF ENHANCING THE RATE OF FIRE OF A FIREARM (PA 18-29)

To ban the sale or transfer, possession, manufacturing or use of bump stocks or other accessories to increase the rate of fire of a firearm. FOR MORE DETAILS CLICK HERE.

AN ACT CONCERNING BENEFITS FOR CERTAIN VETERANS WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH POST-TRAUMATIC STRESS DISORDER OR TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY OR WHO HAVE HAD AN EXPERIENCE OF MILITARY SEXUAL TRAUMA (PA 18-47)

To expand eligibility for certain veterans benefits to certain individuals who have been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder or traumatic brain injury or who have had an experience of military sexual trauma. FOR MORE DETAILS CLICK HERE.

AN ACT PROHIBITING THE USE OF RESIDENTIAL AUTOMATIC PESTICIDE MISTING SYSTEMS (PA 18-84)

AN ACT CONCERNING ROBO CALLS AND SPOOFING (PA 18-135)

AN ACT CONCERNING ELECTRONIC PROOF OF AUTOMOBILE INSURANCE (PA 18-108)
