NEWTOWN- State Representative Mitch Bolinsky (R-106) participated in the Head O’ Meadow School’s mystery read event on Monday.

Rep. Bolinsky read the award-winning illustrated children’s book Anglerfish by Elaine Alexander to a second-grade class at Head O’ Meadow. The book delves into the mysterious, deep-sea world of the anglerfish—from how she lives in the darkness, using a very unique method of hunting her next meal, to the surprising relationship in which tiny, little anglerfish ‘fry’ come into the world, beginning in the depths, birthing on the surface of the sea and then, descending back into the Atlantic Ocean’s deep, dark waters.  The anglerfish is a fish of mystery, known as the “Seadevil of the Deep”.

“I had a wonderful time with the kids this morning, you can tell they have a love of reading and boundless curiosity, which is a fantastic testament to all that their parents and Head O’ Meadow teachers hold dear and place value in, every day!”  said Rep. Bolinsky, who is serving his seventh term in the Connecticut General Assembly, all of which as a member of the legislature’s Education Committee, and whose two children both attended Head O’ Meadow, graduating Newtown Public Schools before heading out into their own worlds.
