Thank you to everyone who took a minute to complete my recent poll on whether or not you support tolling in Connecticut.

Over 300 people completed the poll and the overwhelming response from the majority of you said you weren’t in favor of tolls and that the legislature should focus on cutting spending.

No – 86.09%
Yes – 9.60%
Undecided – 4.30%

Some of the other responses included: allow for minimal tolling, only toll trucks/commercial vehicles, place them at the borders, revamp Medicaid, or slightly increase the gas tax.

A lot of misinformation has been spread about where these tolls can go, who can be tolled, the number of gantries and percentage of in-state/out-of-state commuters who will be paying for these tolls.

The link provided below contains the 2018 Tolling Evaluation Study conducted by DOT.

I hope you will take a minute to watch the attached video put together by my colleagues Rep. Davis and Rep. Perillo highlight many of those misconceptions.

A tolls forum is tentatively scheduled for Monday, March 25th in Bristol. Stay tuned for updated information as it becomes available.
