Connecticut’s Renters’ Rebate Program, which is aimed at helping elderly and disabled renters, is now accepting applications and will continue to do so until Oct. 1. The program provides rebates of up to $900 for married couples and $700 for single filers.

The rebate amount is based on a graduated income scale and the amount of rent and utility payments (excluding telephone) made in the calendar year prior to the year in which the renter applies.

The applications can be filed with either social service agencies or assessor’s offices in individual towns.

Any inquiries should be directed to the Renter’s Rebate hotline at 860-418-6377.
