Whit Betts was elected to the State Legislature in November of 2010 and proudly represents the 78th House District covering Bristol, Plymouth, and Terryville.

For the 2021 and 2023 legislative sessions, Rep. Betts was appointed by House Republican Leader Vincent Candelora to serve as House Republican Senior Whip. Rep. Betts will continue to serve on the Appropriations, Public Health, and Environment Committees.

Rep. Betts is the Director of Sales at Green Acres Farm based in Bristol, CT. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Eisenhower College.

Rep. Betts has been married to his wife, Jarre Barnes Betts for 44 wonderful years and counting. They have two adult children, Amy Betts and Drew Betts, and have two granddaughters, Ella Joanna Betts and Maya Lindsay Betts.
